In early 2016 Knight Contracting Ltd. and the Knox Vision Society jointly applied to BC Housing Management Commission for funding assistance under the Provincial Investment in Affordable Housing (PIAH) and was one of eight projects selected on Lower Vancouver Island to be completed under this program. With financial, in-kind contributions from the District of Sooke and School District 62, ground was broken in January 2018. Along with the expertise of their design team, Knight Contracting has now completed this 42-unit, 42,000 sq. ft rental to a sustainability level not to be completely mandated in BC until 2032. This project will supply energy efficient, affordable housing for individuals and families which is much needed in the developing region of Sooke.
